Hi there!
If you’re reading this blog, you’re probably interested in nature or ecology. As you explore the blog, I encourage you to comment your thoughts or opinions on any post, or to message me with new post ideas, as the purpose of this blog is to start conversations and share ideas.
As a civil engineer and a returned Peace Corps
volunteer who worked in the health sector in Panama, I have a passion for
fixing things and trying to improve the human condition. As someone who has
always loved the outdoors, I like to make those improvements as coexistent with
the natural world as possible.
Welcome to Roots and
STEMs.
The roots are the
foundation for growth and stability. They sustain life, giving us a grounding
point to build up from. It’s important to stay in touch with our roots, and to
take advice from elders and indigenous people especially, as they have a lot of
wisdom to offer us.
The stems lead to
growth and fruition. It’s important to balance the old and the new, the wise
and the innovative. This is a space for encouragement and inspiration. Everyone’s
thoughts are respected here, with the goal of sharing information and ideas.
This blog honors our
planet Earth while collaborating with science, technology, engineering, and
mathematics (STEM) principles to share ideas on ecological projects we can do
around our homes and in our communities - the roots of our society.
Thank you for joining me on this blogging journey!
- Chelsea Laux
